Adventure programs are one or two day programs that expose youth to a new sport or experience. Students are provided with all the necessary clothing and gear and are able to experience outdoor activities such as rock climbing, skiing, snowboarding, peak ascending, teams course, and snowshoeing.


An introductory winter program that provides youth a one or two day ski or snowboard trip. Participants are provided with professional instruction, equipment rentals, lift tickets and clothing. A lunch voucher is included at Vail Resorts Mountains.

  • Chaperones receive a lift ticket, rental equipment and clothing
  • Groups provide transportation

Teams Course

For any group or organization (youth or adult), the SOS Outreach teams course offers a day of growth, challenge and fun. Teams course days provide exciting obstacles designed to improve trust, teamwork, problem solving, communication skills, commitment, and group cohesiveness. SOS also offers a traveling teams course that can be brought to a preferred location.

Rock Climbing 

SOS offers an indoor and outdoor rock climbing programs. Students explore the fundamentals of rock climbing while building their focus and challenging their perceived limitations.

Hut Trips

5-12 students snowshoe to a historic 10th Mountain Division hut in pristine wilderness for one or more nights.

Winter Adventure Course

Youth in winter courses can take snowshoe hikes, learn how to build a snow caves, and track animals. Adventure courses take students into a new classroom of natural learning and science.

Outdoor Living Skills

This program introduces outdoor living skills; including lessons on planning, nutrition, shelter building, orienteering, Leave No Trace, weather and first aid.

Peak Ascent

In this program, students hike or snowshoe with the goal of summiting a high mountain peak.
