Marketing Director Overview
The marketing director reports to the executive director and will be an integral component of the national team of SOS Outreach. A successful candidate for this position will create, implement and oversee a strategic marketing strategy that effectively drives brand awareness and donations to the organization. Their work will start with leading a brand change for the organization.

Core Accountabilities

• Responsible for internal and external corporate communications that directly lead to the enhancement of SOS Outreach reputation with all constituents.
• Develops a comprehensive strategy to activate brand name change that recaptures brand awareness and brand equity
• Engages and activates the organization’s team members, mentors and volunteers to effectively communicate organization impacts and brand through their connections.
• Works with various outside media, both regional and national, to tell the stories of SOS Outreach to drive editorial and public relations messaging.
• Creates external communications materials (press releases, bylined articles, talking points, sound bites, presentations, etc.) based on appropriate brand voice ensuring consistency in reaching constituents.
• Develops and executes strategic plans for the design, creation and production of marketing communications materials, including corporate literature, presentations, highlights, events, relevant website content; ensures that such communications materials position SOS Outreach positively for high visibility among staff, media and donors.
• Serves as first-line of company response to and contact with media on various corporate issues, serving as spokesperson on approved messaging and/or coordinating response by any other designated corporate spokesperson.
• Serves as an editorial resource for drafting, reviewing and providing feedback on all public materials and content, ensuring the intended messages are communicated and are in line with communications strategy.
• Contribute to the overall management of the organization to successfully achieve its mission.

Minimum Education and Experience

A combined minimum of three years of experience in organization marketing and/or brand management with a corresponding degree in marketing or communications. Comparable experience in terms of time and background in similar fields and education/degrees will be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Exhibit superior written and verbal skills. Articulate clearly both with the written and spoken word.
• Demonstrated understanding of how marketing and communications impacts each department and the organization as a whole.
• Successful candidate will be current with marketing trends, communication advancements, new technology, market trends, accessibility guidelines, and industry trends
• Readily establishes relationships and maintains a broad network of business contacts outside of SOS Outreach to expand awareness for the organization.
• Understands SOS Outreach history, vision and passion and feels responsibility to engage a larger community in the mission.

This position requires the ability to: travel within the service area; use the computer, telephone, and electronic mail systems; lift 25 pounds; and lead meetings and speak in public. Compensation

This is a full-time salaried position. Salary is $65,000 - $75,000. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, short and long term disability, paid holidays, paid time off, paid sick leave, Pro Deals, and a season pass. The position is open until filled and may be located in any SOS office in the following locations: Eagle County, CO; Lake Tahoe, CA/NV; and Park City/Salt Lake City, UT.  The position is structured around a Monday-Friday work schedule - with potential evening and weekend commitments (especially throughout the fall and winter seasons).
