Other Ways to Get Involved

Our Team

After growing up in Tennessee, Ellie moved to Colorado to pursue environmental science (and teaching herself to ski!). Ellie has spent the last 5 years teaching science and outdoor skills to youth throughout Colorado, and is excited to continue this passion at SOS! In her free time, she loves spending time outside - running, backpacking, skiing, climbing, napping on rocks or swimming with her dog Basil!

It is Sara's first season with SOS and she could not be more stoked to join such a fun and inspiring organization. After relocating from the Midwest in 2019, she's built trails and mentored youth across Colorado, Wyoming, and Alaska, developing a deep understanding of how outdoor experiences transform lives. Now settled in Steamboat Springs (thanks Yampa Valley curse!), Sara's excited to help young people discover their potential through mentorship, teambuilding, and on the mountain. When she's not working, you'll find Sara mountain biking, skiing, hiking, rafting, and snowmobiling with her adventure buddy, a 3 year old husky/golden named Kootz.

Born and raised in Oklahoma, Aleigh took full advantage of traveling the world post-college, living and learning in places like Hawaii, Alaska, and Australia. After a ski season in Breckenridge, she fell in love with the Colorado mountains and is very excited to be joining the SOS team. Her biggest goals in life are to seek adventure and to develop deeper connections with one another and our planet - and to also summit Mt. Kilimanjaro.

With a B.S. in Environmental Science, Lucy moved from her hometown in Alabama to Vail, Colorado to pursue a career in environmental education. She quickly fell in love with the rich ecology, endless trails, and powder days in the mountains. Passionate about connecting people to the outdoors, she’s stoked for her first season with the SOS program in Utah. In her free time, you’ll find Lucy skiing, biking, backpacking, or frolicking through alpine wildflowers.
