DELANEY MURO – 7-YEAR DENVER PARTICIPANT
Although she grew up in Denver with the mountains in view, Delaney had never given much thought to the opportunities that these snow-capped peaks presented. It wasn’t until joining SOS in 7th grade that she discovered the magic of snowboarding and the opportunities that extended from it. Through her 7 years in the program, Delaney became an experienced snowboarder, a fantastic Jr. Mentor, and a tenacious go-getter with a drive to constantly learn and grow.
In the summer of 2021, Delaney enrolled in SOS’s Career Development Program. Through this unique paid internship, Delaney was able to gain hands-on experience with the major apparel brand, Smartwool. From there, Delaney used this valuable experience to explore other incredible opportunities. In the summer of 2022, Delaney returned again to the Career Development Program for an internship with Tecnica Group. Immediately following that, she left to attend a summer physics course at Harvard.
“Delaney is very thoughtful, displays compassion and discipline, and is always the first to volunteer to help out,” says Denver Program Manager, Alison Canavan, “it’s pretty incredible to watch her use her experiences in SOS to pursue so many other amazing opportunities.”
Delaney is now a student at the Colorado School of Mines.
