Donor Advised Funds

What is a donor advised fund?

A donor advised fund (DAF) is an investment account for the sole purpose of supporting qualified charitable organizations of your choosing. DAF accounts can be held through a variety of organizations, including (but not limited to): BNY Mellon, Charityvest, Daffy, Fidelity Charitable, Goldman Sachs Philanthropy Fund, Greater Horizons, Jewish Communal Fund of New York, National Philanthropic Trust, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, and some local community foundations. When you contribute to the DAF account, you are generally eligible for a tax deduction immediately. These funds can then grow tax free, and you can recommend grants to qualified charitable organizations. Reach out to your financial advisor to learn more, and see if a donor advised fund is right for you!
