Every season, we partner with local mountains to give our teenage participants a behind the scenes look at how resorts operate and to learn from industry professionals about career paths in the ski industry.
Whether they end up in the outdoor industry or not, this incredible opportunity is all about helping young people identify ways to connect their passions to a meaningful career.
Thanks to the fantastic folks at Beaver Creek, Park City, Northstar, and Heavenly for making this day possible!

“I never thought I would have the chance to ski – this is my dream.”
That’s what the mom of an SOS participant told us after our first ever parent ride day at Park City Mountain.
After two successful parent ride days at Beaver Creek and Northstar, we were thrilled to host a third session at Park City!
Amanda Sanchez and her husband Fernando signed up to participate in this experience, inspired by their two daughters who learned to ski with SOS and loved it. “I would not have tried it again on my own, but having support from my husband and the instructors made a huge difference.”
She added that the environment was incredibly welcoming since they were also learning alongside other adults in a similar situation. “The day was so much fun! We all did great, but there were moments when we fell, laughed, and, most importantly, we learned. We not only learned how to ski, but also how to overcome our fears.”
To see parents – who give up so much to provide their kids opportunities to play and grow in the mountains – be able to get out on the slopes and experience that same joy was really a full circle moment 💙 |

Maria Martinez first participated in SOS Outreach as a middle schooler. Since then, she’s been an SOS employee, mentor, and even a snowboard instructor at Beaver Creek where she taught youth in the introductory program how to ride.
Today, she’s a proud mother of two sons, the oldest of whom, just started SOS programs this year!

We’re still riding the stoke from the 2025 Silverton Changemaker’s Summit!
With a “Powder for Purpose” mindset, athletes, program alumni, and key community stakeholders all rallied together to change young lives through SOS Outreach.
From alumni and athlete panels to heli-drops and powder skiing, the weekend highlighted that human connection through the outdoors is a powerful driving force of positive change and it reinforced the impact of SOS’ intentionally designed youth-programming.
We are so incredibly thankful for our community – brand partners, donors, alumni, athletes, & staff – for making this summit our most impactful yet and we can’t wait to reconvene next year to do it again.
