Park City, Utah (Tuesday, June 20, 2023) – Park City Community Foundation is proud to announce the three finalists for its annual Women’s Giving Fund grant. The 2023 grant finalists are PC Tots, SOS Outreach, and Summit Community Gardens + EATS.

This year, $100,000 will be awarded to the finalists on July 12 at the annual Grant Celebration, a large increase compared to $45,000 that was granted last year. Women’s Giving Fund members select the recipient of the high-impact grant through a voting process that takes place from June 20 to July 10, 2023. The two runners-up will also receive smaller gifts on July 12.

Since its inception in 2014, Park City Community Foundation’s Women’s Giving Fund has worked to benefit the lives of women+ and children in Park City and Summit County. The powerful group includes nearly 2,100 local women, girls, and those who identify as women. Group members meet throughout the year at various gatherings and have collectively granted $283,000 to make a positive difference in the community.

Dalia Gonzalez, Chair of the Women’s Giving Fund Steering Committee says, “Our committee has gone through an extensive process to select the three finalists this year from many applicants. Voting for our annual grantee is an amazing perk of being a Women’s Giving Fund member. We get to learn about the most important issues affecting local women and children, and direct significant funding to these amazing organizations. I hope all my fellow members will join me in voting this year. Because of all our members, these grants make possible so many urgently needed services in Summit County.”

2023 grant finalists have submitted proposals that will positively impact woman and children. If selected for the high-impact grant, each of the finalists has proposed a project:

  • SOS Outreach will expand its programs for 500+ youth to develop skills, grow their sense of belonging, and practice leadership and career development using skiing and snowboarding as the classroom.
  • PC Tots will provide kindergarten readiness skills, improved culture for childcare workers, and community vibrancy through critically-needed tuition assistance for families and wage increases for staff.
  • Summit Community Garden and EATS will create a Food Farmacy that provides fresh, local produce for women+ facing food hardship to meet basic needs and provide long-term solutions for good health.

This increase in the amount that will be given out this year is due, in part, to expanded membership of Women’s Giving Fund.

Members can vote and learn about each of the finalist’s grant proposals at https://parkcitycf.org/voteWGF. Additionally, the three finalists will be at the monthly Women’s Giving Fund coffee meet-up to answer questions on June 29 at 9:00am at Lucky Ones in the Park City Library. Voting will close on July 10, and the high-impact grantee will be announced at the annual grant celebration on July 12 at Red Pine Lodge at The Canyons.

Women’s Giving Fund is an initiative of Park City Community Foundation that includes nearly 2,100 members who make high-impact grants to help local women and children in need. Women become members for life by making a $1,000 contribution to the fund, which is endowed by the Community Foundation and provides grants to local nonprofits from its earnings in perpetuity.
